Wise Counsel is Medicine
Jan 30, 2023Today’s Task Reading:
This week is the last week of the Series!
God has been so good and has taught us so many great things relating to health and wealth. Today we will focus on setting up a healthy support system of counselors, advisors, and mentors. They help us succeed (Proverbs 15:22). They give us security (Proverbs 11:14, Ecclesiastes 7:12). They provide us with victory (Proverbs 24:6). They help us strategize and fight to receive what is rightfully ours (Proverbs 20:18). Wise instructions gives us life (Proverbs 4:13). James 1:5 says if we lack wisdom, we should pray for wisdom, and God will provide it.
We should do whatever it takes to avoid lousy counsel. So we must make sure our counsel is wise because a horrible support system ruins our morals (1 Corinthians 15:33). So we must test if our support system is from God because they should acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come as God in the flesh. (1 John 4:1-2). Wise counsel isn’t prideful, but humble; humble counsel leads to honor, but prideful counsel leads to disgrace (Proverbs 11:2). Wise counsel words bring healing; a true friend tells the truth in love even if it hurts, but an enemy will lie and deceive you with kisses (Proverbs 27:6). Wise counsel encourages and builds (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Wise counsel leads to intelligence and honor (Proverbs 15:31-33).
When we are saved by accepting Jesus in our hearts and making Him the Lord of our lives, we receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the wise counselor that helps us and teach us God’s Word (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit leads us to truth, only speaks the Word of God (John 16:13).
Today’s Prayer:
God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. When we get are broken and need healing, help us to set up a healthy support system of counselors, advisors, and mentors. They will help us heal and continue in our healing. Most importantly, thank you, God, for sending Jesus to save us, deliver us and heal us. Give us knowledge, wisdom, and understanding we need to stay physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually whole. So that you can be our number one priority and that you can get the glory. We ask You to forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
