Week 7: Saving and Investing
Today’s Easy Task: List the risks and actions you are willing to take to multiply your talents.
How to rock this task:
- list risks you are willing to take to multiply the talents God has given to you
- list actions you are willing to take to multiply the talents God has given to you
Today's Devotional:
We have been given talents, it’s important that we take risks to develop them. In Matthew 25:14-30 the master was very upset when the servant didn’t multiply his talent. He was called wicked and lazy.
Whatever ability God has given us. We must USE IT! NEVER HIDE IT! It’s considered wicked and lazy. As we work, we shouldn’t compare our talents to other as mentioned in the parable. For example, in Matthew 25:14-30, everyone started with different amount of talents and therefore had different results. So the definition of success varies from person to person, because God gives us talents according to our abilities.
Yes, life is unpredictable and we can’t control it, but we must remember that God creates and sustains everything. It’s normal to get stuck, when we are not sure of what God wants for us to do. We get caught up in over analyzing things and over thinking “what ifs” scenarios which causes lack of action or an inability to act. Obsessing over unimportant things leads to inaction. So we must trust God to help us take action.
The outcome of action will be better than never acting at all. We got to let go of fear and give God complete control. God will point us in the right direction, but God doesn’t have to tell us His entire plan. Let’s use prayer, reading the Bible to learn to follow his direction.
It’s important to be bold and act. Step out on faith. Solomon in Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, "In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good." Also in 2 Corinthians 9:6 Solomon said, if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, but if you sow generously, you will reap generously. So get confidence and take risk, the results is not up to you, but God! So let’s sow our seed in the morning and evening with all of our abilities.
Today’s Prayer:
God, We love You and Adore You. Great is Your Faithfulness. You are the best encourager and You lift us out of despair. It’s because You love us. Give us today the drive to use all the talents that You have blessed us with. Help us to never hide them. So that You name can be lifted up and glorified in Heaven and Earth. Forgive our transpasses, debt and sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from Evil. In Jesus Name, amen.
