Week 1: Commit to God's Instructions
Today’s Easy Task: Replace your addictions with S.M.A.R.T. Habits
How to rock this task:
- Get Your Journal
- Get in Quiet Space
- Write or Say Your Gratitude List
- Write your S.M.A.R.T. goals for resting, eating, cleansing, de-stressing and healing
- Write your S.M.A.R.T. goals for working, lending, saving, investing and giving
- Remember to each goal should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound as well as lines up with the word of God!
Today's Devotional:
Today for your task, you will be examining the difference between addictions and habits. Then make a list of your addictions to replace them with S.M.A.R.T. habits.
Your attitude determines the difference between habits and addictions. If you find out that something you enjoy regularly is not good for you and you stop doing it – IT IS A HABIT. However, if you make excuses and continue doing it even when you know it isn’t good for you, it is an addiction.
You must replace your addictions with good habits (Ephesians 4:22-24) that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (S.M.A.R.T.) goals.
-------------
I would like to encourage you to make journal. Let your journal be broken into two sections. The first section should include your vision for health and wealth. The second section should include your journaling and day-to-day gratitude list.
In the vision section, update your 5 health and 5 wealth goals into S.M.A.R.T. Be specific as possible and focus on solutions- not problems.
In your journaling, you will write your dreams, your gratitude list, and wisdom/understanding/knowledge the Lord shared with you in His Word, during prayer time or anytime throughout the day or night.
Today's Prayer:
God, Thank You for giving me the mind to replace my addictions with S.M.A.R.T habits. Thank you for giving me the ability to learn S.M.A.R.T habits. Help me to be wise with the days You have given me. Give me the self-control needed to do my best in all areas of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today's Scriptures:
Ephesians 4:22-24
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
