Week 9: Resting
Today’s Easy Task: Schedule a family feast with scrumptious foods, Bible study, spiritual songs and offerings of praises to the Lord
How to rock this task:
- set aside a time & day for the family feast
- cook or cater festive foods
- share scriptures for study to meditate on for the month
- sing spiritual songs and give offerings to the Lord
Today's Devotional:
Today is day 60 and we have completed 2/3rd of Faith and Fit 90 Wow!
Today when we will look at our schedule let us observe if we are scheduling time to honor God.
The Sabbath day (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown) is the most healing time for the body.
It is also the most idea time for us to fast and pray. The Sabbath day is the best time for us to
rest more and eat less. When we fast, we should rest from work and chores, we should keep it private and not proclaim to everyone our fast (limit it to close family) and we should end the fast properly.
There are different ways to honor God with our schedule. One way to honor God is with the
monthly new moon. With every new moon, we prepare a feast for our family and ask God to
forgive our sins and plead the blood of Jesus over our lives. We offer to God ourselves by
submitting to His will and not our own will. Another way to honor God is by blessing our
homes; whenever we clean our home we can listen and meditate on Psalm 51. It is a great verse to focus on when we are doing a house cleaning and house blessing. Moreover, when we honor God we are celebrating God. If we read, Psalm 81:1-7, Numbers 10:10, Isaiah 66:23 we’ll see examples of special worship services. Let us honor God with our schedule and make time to participate in special feast with our family. During those times, we can have a family dinner with scrumptious meal that includes Bible reading and study, singing psalms and spiritual songs I’m and offering sacrifices of praise to the Lord, similar to the Last Supper.
Below are examples of occasions that we can honor God during the spring and fall feast days:
- The Passovers (Leviticus 23:5)
- The unleavened bread (Leviticus 23:6)
- The first fruit –Easter (Leviticus 23:11)
- Pentecost (Leviticus 23:16)
- Trumpets (Leviticus 25:8-10)
- Atonement
- Tabernacles (Leviticus 23:34)
Today’s Prayer:
God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. Help us to schedule time to honor God on the Sabbath, new moon and feast days. Help us to read and study the Bible. Help us to sing Psalms and spiritual songs. Help us
plead for forgiveness and healing. Help us to submit to Your will. When we clean our homes,
cars, Help us to meditate on Psalms 51. In all occasions, help us to honor we. We don't want to take You for granted and bring shame to Your great and holy name. Forgive is for not taking the time to honor You. Also, we ask You to please forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Everyday help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power and Glory. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
