God the Son is Medicine

faith and fit 90 challenge healing Feb 01, 2023

Today’s Task Reading:

Today we will discuss how God the Son is our medicine. God, our Father, provided "Jesus" the Son of God to be our medicine. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Jesus came to heal. Matthew 4:23-25 illustrates how Jesus healed the multitude. Matthew 8:1-3 demonstrates how Jesus healed the leper. Matthew 8:5-10 shows how Jesus interceded for the healing of a soldier's servant. Matthew 9:27-31 illustrates how Jesus healed the blind. Matthew 9:32-33 demonstrates how Jesus healed the demon-possessed. Mark 7:31-37 illustrates how Jesus healed the deaf. John 5:1-15 shows how Jesus healed the disabled. So it is easy to see how Jesus came to cure all diseases and forgive. Through Christ, we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus heals us with His redeeming blood. When Jesus died and rose from the dead, He illustrated to us how much He cares for us. His sacrifice on the cross removed our guilt and sins (Hebrews 9:26). Matthew 9:35 says Jesus heals all diseases and weaknesses.

Today if we need healing, let us ask Jesus to give us the faith we need to receive our healing. Isaiah 53:5 says, "[Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed." So that means Jesus healed our body when he was beaten. Jesus' death healed our soul because it provided a way for us to receive forgiveness for our sins. Jesus’ sacrifice restored our relationship with God, our Father. It allowed healing for the broken-hearted and broken-spirited (Psalms 34:18, Psalms 147:3). Because of Jesus, we are strong instead of weak (Isaiah 41:10), and we have peace instead of anxiety (John 14:27).

Today’s Prayer:

God, You reign forever and ever in the heavens and on earth. We are so thankful for You. You deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Let Your kingdom come and will be done in our lives. Thank You, God, for giving Jesus to be our medicine. Through Jesus, our sins are forgiven, and we have access to You, our Father. Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice and removing our guilt and sins. Thank You for healing our disease and weaknesses. Give us knowledge, wisdom, and understanding we need to heal as needed. Help us to take the necessary steps to heal. We ask You to forgive us for all our debts, trespasses, and sins as we forgive our debtors and those who have trespassed and sinned against us. Lead us not into temptation. Help us to be equipped with the full armor of God as You deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the [a]impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36 Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. 37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. John 5:1-15 New King James Version (NKJV)
A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda
5 After this, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, [a]Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, [b]paralyzed, [c]waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

And that day was the Sabbath. 10 The Jews, therefore, said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”

11 He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”

12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” 13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward, Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

15 The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
