Day 4 of My Tax Transformation Journey: Trusting God’s Guidance in Gathering What I Need
Nov 11, 2024
As I continue my 21-Day Tax Transformation Journey, today’s focus is on a seemingly small but essential task: reaching out to my previous employer and clients for any missing W-2s and 1099s. Although it sounds straightforward, this process requires organization, persistence, and a lot of patience. For me, it’s not just about the paperwork; it’s about trusting God to guide me through each detail of this journey.
Seeking God’s Order in Every Detail
One scripture that stands out to me as I work on this task is 1 Corinthians 14:33, which reminds us, "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." Sometimes, gathering documents can feel chaotic, especially when we’re reaching back to past employers or clients we haven’t contacted in a while. But knowing that God values order and peace encourages me to approach this step with a calm mind, trusting that He will help me bring order to this process.
Patience and Diligence in My Pursuit
As I contact former employers, I know I may encounter delays or communication challenges. Proverbs 21:5 encourages me here, saying, "The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance." Diligence, even in the small tasks, builds the foundation for greater things. By reaching out and patiently following up, I am reminded that these small actions are helping me create a future of abundance and financial stewardship.
Trusting God for Favor and Connections
One thing I pray for as I send these requests is for God’s favor with the people I contact. Sometimes, a simple task like this can lead to unexpected blessings and reconnections. Proverbs 3:4 encourages us to "find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man." In asking for the favor of others and a smooth response, I am reminded that God can work through people to provide what I need in this journey. I pray that God blesses each interaction and gives me grace in every follow-up.
The Value of Preparation and Wisdom
Gathering these documents may seem like a small step, but it prepares me for a smoother, less stressful tax season. This reminds me of Proverbs 24:27, which advises, "Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house." Taking time to prepare, even when it feels tedious, allows me to build a more stable foundation for my finances.
Gratitude for God’s Provision
I also feel a deep sense of gratitude during this process. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." I know that as I pursue this journey with diligence and faith, God will provide everything I need—not only for my taxes but for my overall peace and stability. Even if there are challenges, I can look to Him as my source.
This journey is more than just a series of tasks. It’s an exercise in trust, discipline, and gratitude for the way God has ordered my life. Today, as I send out these requests and wait for responses, I am reminded that God is with me, guiding every step and working through each small action I take. If you’re on a similar journey, I encourage you to take heart and trust that each task, when done with faith, is leading you closer to His peace and provision.
