My Favorite Thing to Do is a free gift from God. It is available to everyone who believes Jesus is the way, truth and the life. Everyone that took a step of faith and confessed with their mouth and believed in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead immediately receives the Holy Spirit and are saved from the damnation of sin!!!

But it is important for us to make a conscious effort to walk in the Spirit to keep from fulfilling the lust of the flesh!

I found to be led by the Spirit, I must humble myself constantly, yield to the will of God. This discipline was impossible for me until I develop the discipline of praying in tongue. It is a perfect prayer that speaks directly to God in His language. It’s a gift of God and helps me to build up my spirit.

If you are a Christian, do you know what is more mature in you the fruit of the Spirit of the lust of the flesh? Read Galatians 5:16-26 to check yourself.

Galatians 5:16-26 New King James Version (NKJV)
Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [d]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

To pray in the Spirit, we need to humble ourselves, give up control, trust the Holy Spirit by yielding to Him and allowing Him to take over our tongue so He can pray the perfect prayer on our behalf to God.

Many Christians are not using this gift daily. The more we use it. The more develop our fruit of the Spirit will be. We will be more mature in the area of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

As I started to make a decision to pray in the Spirit during my daily prayer time. I know that the Holy Spirit was interceding for me and showing me truths. The Holy Spirit was helping me overcome the lusts of the flesh.

Now I am finding myself willing to obey God even when it doesn’t make sense to me logically. Since I’m a very logical person, it’s naturally hard for me to do things that doesn’t make sense to me. Which made be full of pride and I had to repent of that sin, because I was putting my will before God’s will.

So that’s why I know, I must constantly humble myself. I must constantly pray in the Spirit daily. God is making my spirit stronger.

If you are a Christian, I want to encourage you to yield to the Spirit by praying in tongue. If you are not a Christian, please accept Jesus in your heart. He’s the truth. He is the way to God. He is life.

If you want to walk in the fruit of the Spirit, take steps of faith. Confess with your mouth, believe with all your heart God raised Jesus from the dead. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and He will make your path straight.

It starts with constantly yield to the Holy Spirit everyday of our lives. So that the seed planted in our hearts on the day we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior our seed will grow, develop and mature into the fruit of the Spirit instead of the lust of the flesh.

Read both the NKJV and TPT of Galatians 5:16-26!

The Holy Spirit, Our Victory

16 As you yield freely and fully to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self – life.[a] 17 For your self – life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self – life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self – life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit.[b]

18 But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit[c] of grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it!

19 The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, 20 chasing after things instead of God,[d] manipulating others,[e] hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, 21 being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions,[f] wild parties, and all other similar behavior.
Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things[g] will not inherit the kingdom realm of God!

22–23 But the fruit[h] produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions:[i]
joy that overflows,[j]
peace that subdues,
patience[k] that endures,
kindness[l] in action,
a life full of virtue,[m]
faith that prevails,
gentleness of heart, and
strength of spirit.[n]
Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.[o]

24 Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus, the Anointed One, have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with our self – life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah. 25 We must live in the Holy Spirit and follow after him. 26 So may we never be arrogant, or look down on another, for each of us is an original. We must forsake all jealousy that diminishes the value of others.[p]

Footnotes:
Galatians 5:16 Or “the natural realm.”
Galatians 5:17 The concept of the “new creation life of the Spirit” is implied in the greater context of Galatians, and referred to explicitly in 6:15–16.
Galatians 5:18 The word for Spirit is actually “Spirit-Wind.”
Galatians 5:20 Literally “idolatry.”
Galatians 5:20 Literally “witchcraft.” The Greek word for “witchcraft” can imply drug usage.
Galatians 5:21 Literally “drunken binges.”
Galatians 5:21 The Aramaic can be translated “those who devote themselves to these things.”
Galatians 5:22 The Greek word here can be translated “harvest.”
Galatians 5:22 There is clear textual inference that the “fruit” (singular) of the Holy Spirit is love, with the other virtues displaying aspects of the greatest quality of Spirit-life, agape love.
Galatians 5:22 The translator has chosen to supply action to these virtues, for they are not meant to be abstract virtues, but made visible with actions.
Galatians 5:22 The Greek word for patience is taken from a verb that means “ever tapping” or “never quitting.”
Galatians 5:22 The Aramaic word can be translated “sweetness.”
Galatians 5:22 Or “goodness.”
Galatians 5:22 Although the word self is not found in this verse, most translations render this as “self-control.” The word is actually “lordship,” or by implication “spirit-strength.”
Galatians 5:22 Literally “there is no law set against these things” or “there is no conflict with Jewish laws.”
Galatians 5:26 As translated from the Aramaic.
